Welcome to St. Ignatius

Greetings Falcon Families!

My name is Ileana Wade and I am honored to be the principal of St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish School.

I have been part of the St. Ignatius family for many, many years, first as a student (Class of ’78), then as a teacher and parent, and also as a Vice Principal. I hold a very special place in my heart for this wonderful school in Highland Park!

St. Ignatius offers a well rounded academic program with caring teachers who go out of their way to support all learners. The strong academic program is enriched through the use of technology and the addition of varied opportunities for the students to develop their own interests in areas such as Sports, Academic Decathlon, Service, and Choir to name a few.

St. Ignatius offers a unique family feeling that comes from the selfless involvement of our parents who support us in all we do. As the proverb says, ‘It takes a village to raise a child’, and together, we raise intelligent, articulate, giving, and talented children! Our graduates are accepted to the best Catholic high schools in the Los Angeles area, and graduate from some of the finest colleges and universities in the country: Loyola Marymount University, USC, University of San Francisco, UCLA, and St. John’s New York is a small sampling of the schools that our graduates have attended.

The Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose established the school in 1922, and although we no longer have a Dominican sister as principal, we are still blessed to be an MSJ Dominican affiliate school. We are regularly visited by the Dominican sisters and guided by the spirituality of the MSJ Dominicans. Our Catholic faith is woven through all we do and all we learn and it is the four pillars of the Dominican order, Prayer, Study, Community, and Service that make us a distinctive Dominican school, unlike any other in the area. In addition, some of the Jesuit charism of our patron saint, Ignatius of Loyola, is also present in our focus on education, in finding God in all things, and in doing all for the Greater Glory of God.

At St. Ignatius, we are all learners and we are all one family. Our end goals include helping all to reach their academic potential so that they can be productive members of this ever-changing world while nurturing a deep faith in Christ.

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the St. Ignatius Family!

God Bless You,

Mrs. Ileana Wade, Principal
